The Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, in association with IQAC, SSIPMT, Raipur, organized the “Component & Circuit Identification Competition” on 23rd September 2026 at Computer Lab No. 6 (Academic Block). The competition was scheduled to commence at 02:35 PM onwards. The competition was organized as a component and circuit identification oriented under the Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Department, with Mr. Praveen Yadav, Assistant Professor, ET&T, SSIPMT, Raipur, Chhattisgarh, identified as the event coordinator. This competition was designed to evaluate the ability of students to recognize fundamental electronic building blocks and understand how they interact in real-world applications.
The event tested participants’ real-world diagnostic skills, speed and theoretical knowledge in a series of intense, timed challenges. Competitors had mere seconds to visually identify a massive array of surface-mount devices (SMD) and through-hole components, decoding complex resistor color bands, capacitor markings, and IC packages on sight.
Event coordinator noted that the event bridges a crucial gap between textbook learning and practical engineering. “In the real world, troubleshooting doesn’t come with an answer key” said the event coordinator. “This competition proves who can actually think on their feet when a system goes down.“
